Calcium 1250 mg + Calcitriol 0.25mcg + Menaquinone 45 mcg works by giving your body the nutrients it needs to build and maintain strong bones. Calcium directly supplies the minerals needed for healthy bones and teeth. Calcitriol is an active form of vitamin D that increases calcium absorption from the intestine and helps maintain proper calcium levels in the blood. Menaquinone (Vitamin K2) helps activate proteins like osteocalcin, which helps move calcium into the bones and supports better bone strength. Together, these ingredients help improve calcium levels, reduce bone loss, and support healthy bones and muscles.
Avoid taking Calcium 1250 mg + Calcitriol 0.25mcg + Menaquinone 45 mcg with the following medicines, as it may increase or decrease the desired effect, or in worse cases, it could be fatal:
Avoid taking Calcium 1250 mg + Calcitriol 0.25mcg + Menaquinone 45 mcg with tea, coffee, excess fiber, spinach, and very high-phytate foods around the same time because they may reduce calcium absorption. It is best taken with water and after food for better absorption and to reduce stomach upset.
Take Calcium 1250 mg + Calcitriol 0.25mcg + Menaquinone 45 mcg exactly as your doctor recommends. The dose may change based on your condition and how well you respond. Do not take more than prescribed without consulting your doctor.
If you forget to take your medicine, take the medication soon as you remember. If it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Always consult the doctor before making any changes to your dosage.
The recommended dietary allowance for calcium in adults is about 1000 mg per day. Women above 50 years and older adults may need around 1200 mg per day. Children need around 700–1300 mg depending on age.
There is no separate daily RDA for calcitriol because it is the active form of vitamin D used as a medicine. For general vitamin D needs, adults usually need around 600 IU daily, and older adults may need around 800 IU daily.
There is no fixed separate RDA for menaquinone, but the general daily requirement for vitamin K in adults is about 90 mcg for women and 120 mcg for men. Children need lower amounts depending on age.
Calcium is found in milk, curd, cheese, yogurt, paneer, leafy green vegetables, almonds, sesame seeds, tofu, and fortified foods.
Calcitriol is not naturally found in foods in the same medicine form, but vitamin D can be obtained from sunlight exposure, egg yolk, fatty fish, fortified milk, fortified cereals, and mushrooms.
Menaquinone is found in fermented foods such as natto, cheese, curd, egg yolk, chicken, and dairy products.
Calcitriol is used for hypocalcemia (low calcium), osteoporosis (brittle bones), osteomalacia (soft bones), hypoparathyroidism (low parathyroid hormone), and latent tetany (muscle twitching).
Common side effects of Calcitriol include hypercalcemia (high blood calcium), loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, headache, drowsiness, weakness, stomach discomfort, urinary tract infection, and rash.
Adult dose for calcitriol is about 0.25mcg to 0.5mcg.
Calcium-rich foods include milk, curd, cheese, paneer, yogurt, sesame seeds, almonds, ragi, tofu, leafy green vegetables, and fortified cereals.
Fruits that contain calcium include oranges, figs, kiwi, papaya, mulberries, and dried apricots. Dried figs are one of the better fruit sources of calcium.
Calcium deficiency can cause weak bones, muscle cramps, body pain, tingling, weakness, brittle nails, and in severe cases bone thinning or osteoporosis.
Menaquinone (vitamin K2) usually has very few side effects when taken in normal doses. Rarely, it may cause stomach upset, nausea, diarrhea, or loss of appetite. The most important caution is that it can interact with blood thinners like warfarin.
Menaquinone (vitamin K2) deficiency can cause easy bruising, bleeding, slow blood clotting, weak bones, and increased risk of bone thinning. Severe vitamin K deficiency is rare in adults, but it can happen in people with poor absorption, long-term antibiotics, liver problems, or poor diet.
There is no separate official RDA for menaquinone (vitamin K2). The general daily vitamin K need in adults is about 90 mcg for women and 120 mcg for men. In supplements, menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is commonly used in doses like 45–100 mcg daily, depending on the product and doctor’s advice.
